We often think that only smart and hardworking kids can gain admission to medical schools. This is based on the presumption that medicine is difficult to learn, requiring years of training and a commitment to lifelong learning. However, with medical knowledge readily available online, anyone with internet access can easily search for the medical information they need. The real question now is how a layperson can distinguish between accurate and inaccurate information, and apply these to their own lives. This issue has been exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We believes that while practicing medicine remains challenging in the current era, understanding medicine should not be. After acquiring some background knowledge and basic principles, anyone who can read should be able to comprehend medicine. That is why we created “GR Medicine”.
The purpose of GR Medicine is to provide accurate medical information that is easily understood, empower grassroot individuals to take ownership when facing medical dilemmas, and give regular people more autonomy in participating in medical decision-making.
